Five on Friday

1 - Ryan Christopher Art is still at the Paseo Art Space gallery in Oklahoma City.
2 - I ate Arctic Zero ice cream and it was awesome. Sorry for the repeat.
3 - I ate and drank too muc last night at Red Earth Brewers. Hence, I didn't lose any weight.
4 - On the plus side, I didn't gain any weight. #winning
5 - I'm going to a party tonight. Lord help me find my self control with the food! Seriously, where does it go when there's giant plates to snack on all night? Thank You and Amen Lord!

How to make friends online in 4 easy steps

1 - Be a reader. Read what other people are writing or instagramming.
2 - Comment thoughtfully. Be sure to reference something that you got from their post. This is the time to focus on them and be genuine.
3 - Invite the other person to check out your blog/website/Instagram. Be sure to mention something that they may be interested in.
4 - Be patient. Developing online friendships takes a lot of time and effort. There's no telling who you may befriend. I've got online friendships that have lasted years.
Please check out Ryan Christopher Art for his amazing paintings.

Upcoming posts

I will be writing a post about bottling the beer and finally drinking the beer.

I will also have to write a post on visiting Alaska. Its been a couple of years since my last trip up north.

This is not Alaska but I'll have plenty of pics. Snow was in the forecast. Besides that, I don't have too much going on for a bit. I'll have to pack my schedule a little more.

Serious Sunday

Welcome to Serious Sunday. Today, I'd like to share some blog-working ideas. I wish all bloggers had GFC or bloglovin. It would make following everybody so much easier. I wish all bloggers would remove the word verification on the comments, also to make things easier. I would like to link up with more bloggers especially for Weight Loss Wednesdays. Finally, I wish the blogger app for iphone and ipad was much easier to use. I don't always have my computer next to me when I want to blog.
Thank you to everyone who reads my blog. I hope you find it entertaining and come back often.
Please stay tuned for Make a Difference Monday.

Serious Sunday

Welcome to Serious Sunday. I have goals. For the blog, my goal is to be a big time blogger with tons of followers, readers, friends, fans and the like.
This blog is supposed to be entertaining and hope you enjoy my little posts. The photos are meant to be beautiful and intriguing.
Finally, I love to link up with you. I am not a big time blogger and do not support myself through this labor of love.
But I love to give in little ways.
If you get that, maybe we can link up sometime.
Send me a message.
Please stay tuned for Make a Difference Monday.

Thanks for being my friend and follower.

Liebster Blog Award #3!

As I briefly researched this award, I found out its very similar to a chain letter. There are a couple of reasons why I think it's better though. Reason One: This is an excellent tool to meet other bloggers. I prefer this method over the "If You Really Knew Me" posts circulating the blog world. Reason Two: bloggers nominate each other because they want to get to know each other. To me it's akin to a compliment from one blogger to the other.
Without further discussion, here's my post about me, (which sounds weird to me.)
A HUGE THANK YOU TO PAM OF PAM MOWER DESIGNS FOR NOMINATING ME!

RULES:
The Liebster Blog Award is given to bloggers by bloggers. It is a way to acknowledge each other and say “you’re doing a great job”. It is for blogs with 200 or less followers, so it’s also a great way to spread the word about smaller blogs and get them more readers and followers!

When you receive the award, you post 11 random facts about yourself and answer 11 questions from the person(s) who nominated you. You pass the Award onto 11 other blogs (make sure you tell them you nominated them!) and ask them 11 questions. You’re not allowed to nominate the blog(s) who nominated you!
RANDOM FACTS
1: I love travel and have been to many foriegn countries.
2: I love purses, wallets, shoes, mugs, luggage, backpacks and may have a problem.
3: I am very snap happy with my canon elph.
4: I love animals but kitties are my favorite.
5: Purple is my favorite color but I love all colors.
6: I have a mini cooper that I share with hubby but we need a truck.
7: I'm in a band called The Copa Reefer Band and I play piano.
8: I love karoake but no friends will join me.
9: I can go shopping for hours, spend no money, and touch everything in the store. Drives hubby nuts.
10: I want to live in Key West or one of the other Keys.
11: Hubby and I have been married for 13 years and known each other for 14 years. (It was a short dating period.)
PAM'S QUESTIONS

  1. Where do find your inspiration? Mostly outdoors.
  2. If you could recreate any memory what would it be? Cruising the Greek islands in a yacht.
  3. Do you have any animals? What are their names? I have two Bengal cats named Chomps and Kirby.
  4. Who is your favorite designer? I don't think Target counts so I'll say J. Crew and Banana Republic. Those are designers, right?
  5. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?  Why? Key West because island living is good for me and hubby.
  6. What do you do to cheer yourself up? Drink: beer or wine, or tea. Watch tv. Crochet. Go outside for a walk. Go shopping.
  7. If you could change one event you've experienced what would it be?  Why? I would have moved to Oklahoma City two years prior. Hubby went to school here and I lived alone in Colorado for two miserable years. That was dumb considering we ended up moving here.
  8. Why do you like blogging? This is my therapy, my journal, my opportunity to learn and grow, and someday write a book.
  9. What is the happiest memory you have? Memories get fuzzy for me. I'll say our recent vacation to St. Lucia was my happiest. We enjoyed the pool together for the first time and that was awesome for me.
  10. What's your favorite hobby? Reading, biking, writing, photo taking, crocheting, playing piano, how can I pick one?
  11. What is your dream job? An analyst that creates reports and gives presentations. I love public speaking.
MY QUESTIONS
1: Why do you like blogging?
2: Where is your dream vacation?
3: Do you have any pets? What are their names?
4: What is your guilty pleasure?
5: Do you choose to pick up the remote or pick up a book first?
6: What is your favorite holiday?
7: Do you like Starbucks? What do you get there?
8: Do you prefer purses over shoes or vice versa or equal?
9: Are a cook or a baker?
10: What is your go-to accessory?
11: Do you prefer country living or the city?

Swap Reveal Day

Today is swap reveal. I have participated in two swaps and I'm excited to share the goodies I've received from my bloggy BFFs. First is the scarf swap from Allie at A Day In A Joyful Life.  I received two lovely scarves from Hannah at Thirsty World Designs. Go check her blog out today to see what I sent her. It was super cute and I need to go buy another scarf for myself.
The next swap was called "I made it for you" sponsored by Libby at Its Never Too Late Although I'm Always Late and Danielle at The Ordinary Wife Blog. You need to check what I made for Melissa at We Play Cottage because I made something really cute. She did a fantastic job for me. I am proud to have hand warmers perfect for walking to work. I have a ten minute walk from my house and I am truly blessed because my last commute was an hour. I also have an adorable hair clip and it matches my work uniform: black.

These swaps came at the perfect time of the year. Literally, three days ago the weather did a 180 and got cold on us. Brrr! END

The wormhole

The wormhole.
By Esther Davison

When I open up the internet, I am also opening up the wormhole.
Its so fascinating, entertaining, interesting, and insanely enough it never ends.
When I open up the wormhole, I dive deep into other's blogs and click to find more blogs.
Everyone writes such interesting things and post such fun photos. I never know when to stop.
I have to stop
when something
needs to be
done,
like
chores.
Boo.

Have you ever made it to the end of a string of clicks? I hope you find this poem entertaining. Please comment haha.

Top pick Tuesday

This is one of my top photos and it turned out to make great post cards.

Dear bloggy friends, If you like any of my photos please let me know which one. I will be happy to send you a hard copy. If you would like to post my photos on your blog, I will happily share. We all love beautiful things and that's why we spend time decorating our homes and dressing in cute outfits. Surrounding ourselves in beauty is a way of creating calm in a stressful world. I believe beauty should be shared. I also think I have some awesome photos. It would be an honor if you agreed with me.

What is your top pick for Tuesday? Thanks for sharing with me.

Revitalized Synergy

Dear bloggy friends, Thank you for your inspiring posts. I am feeling ready to blog again. I plan to link up with you on all sorts of interesting posts such as High Five for Friday and the Instagrid party. I love your stories and hopefully you will enjoy mine. I will be sharing more about myself, my life, and my photos. I am passionate about many things including music (I am in the Copa Reefers band!), art, nutrition, fitness, stress relief, and pets (I have two Bengal kitties.) My goals from this online adventure is to have fun, meet new bloggy friends, and learn from others. I hope to have 100 readers by the end of the year. Someday I would like to make some money from this venture but I'm not in a rush for that. ;) One final question: how has blogging enriched your life? END

Kirby's blog post

Kitties don't blog but if they did it would be like this post.

"Yawn" and stretch. According to my calendar, its time to get up at 5am because that's when my human companions get up. There's no sleeping in on a Saturday. I better walk around and yell loudly to get them going. Nobody's going to get a late start. Finally, they got up and I'm going to take a cat nap for many hours.

Now that was quite a good nap. I don't know what those humans are up to but I want to play. I better walk around and yell loudly to get their attention. Hmm, they misunderstood me and gave me an early dinner. That's ok. I can play later. I love eating a delicious dinner of crunchies and wet food.  I hear something interesting in the living room, I better go and investigate. There's a curious red dot on the floor and I can't quite figure out what it is. On top of that, I can't seem to ever catch it. I'll keep trying because there's a chance I could get lucky.

Whew, I'm getting pretty tired and its late. I better take another cat nap. Uh-ho, I slept too much. I know its completely dark in the house but I better walk around and yell as loudly as I can to make sure there's no strangers in the house. What's that I hear? I better go to the bedroom to investigate and then I can go back to sleep. zzzzzz

Long weekend = short work week

Its been a fun long weekend for me and hopefully you as well. We saw the Redhawks play, went to a tailgating party, saw “Crazy Stupid Love” and went shopping today.

I’ve always been interested in art and lately its been photography. I have enjoyed writing on this blog and playing the piano too. I am a creative and unique person. Hopefully that shines through my photos. Eventually, I’ll need to print and frame my work so I can have a show.

Routine

We find comfort in routine, however I haven’t found the right balance of routine versus spontaneity. I need a routine to make sure I complete tasks consistently. Simple tasks such as reading the bible, writing the blog, taking care of the kitties (I don’t usually miss this one since they can be so vocal about their needs) are all things that I want to complete.

I haven’t gotten my routine together because I’ve moved a little over two months ago and I also have a new job. Being a first-born with input as my strength, I’ll get a routine going soon. So what routine do you have and has it been helpful? Please feel free to comment.

Making a switch

Today’s rating is Positive.

I’m all settled with a new company to rent the condo and that feels good. My signature is there and the sign is in the window. If all goes well, there will be a renter and a company to manage the details for me. Thank you Lord!

Lately, I’ve been struggling with my blog because its been hard to write. I want to be open and honest and I feel my best writing comes during those times. Have I been honest enough with myself? I hope so. I know that blogging has been good and I will keep it up.
