High Five For Friday!

 photo H54Fbutton-1_zpsa7aaa665.png

Dear friends,
Pat yourself on the back, you made it to Friday!

Friday. While its still a weekday, it is oh so special to me. It means the beginning of the weekend and any work seems less like work on Fridays. No other day feels quite like a Friday. Friday is fresh and exciting. Full of promise.

I tend to start conversations at work, "do you have any fun weekend plans?" I hate it when people say no. It's fun to talk about fun plans. So what about you? My plan this weekend is to join the local gym, get my hair cut and colored, and play a show at Bill's Island Grill in south Oklahoma City.

Do tell me your plans. I love it!

Make A Difference Monday

I love it when having fun and helping the community combine in one amazing experience. This weekend I ran the color me rad race, which sponsored the cystic fibrosis - sooner chapter (Cystic Fibrosis - Sooner Chapter). This is a well organized race and always supports a local non-profit. I had a lot of fun trying to get covered in color.
I think everyone had fun and one of my tweeps at Leslie at a Body Won't Break told me about the color run in October. I'm planning on getting a team together. Please stay tuned for Travel Tuesday: Egyptian Adventure.

Silly Saturday

Do you have weekend traditions? We do! Generally the weekend includes catching up on TV, playing Yahtzee and drinking good drinks. We have fun every weekend and in a marriage that's very important.

Love you hunny!

Make A Difference Monday: list edition

There was a time when I was stressed to the max. This was a difficult time of life and I learned how strong I can be under pressure. Even though I was battling stress induced depression, I did not turn to medicine. I'm sharing my top holistic stress reducers, which helped ease my pain.

1) Keep greenery nearby. Since I can't keep plants alive, I bought fresh cut flowers. The color green is stress reducing.
2) Walk. A simple walk around the building at lunch helps to reduce any stress you're feeling.
3) Pet a furry friend. After a really bad day, give your pet some love and you'll feel so much better. Pets can sense your stress and they will want to help you feel better.
4) Talk. Have a vent session with a friend or family member helps you. Talking things out can get it off your chest and you'll feel better.
5) Do something fun. I love to go shopping and I'd cruise around the mall to have fun. I'd go for a bike ride or I'd go out for a craft beer. These are all activities that are fun for me. I'd plan this in advance so I had something good to look forward to. The forward thinking helped me get through the week.

Do you have any tips to share? Please stay tuned for Travel Tuesday.

High Five For Friday: Holiday Vox Box Edition!

Welcome to High Five For Friday! I am always a happy camper on Friday, even though I have to work tomorrow (boohoo.) I would love to introduce you to Influenster, which is a fun website to fill out surveys and possibly receive goodies to try out. My favorite part is that joining is free. My least favorite part is that you don't always receive a box of goodies. I would definitely recommend joining the site because it is a lot of fun. If you need an invite, please comment below and I'll send it to you. I asked Influenster and they let me in. How nice of them! This was my first box and I was ridiculously excited! I immediately checked it in the site and instagrammed all my goodies! Let me show you everything.
First up is the brush from Goody:
The absorbent Microfiber Bristles do an efficient job of drying my hair. I am not a big fan of hair dryers and using this brush helped my hair feel dry enough to not need the blow dryer. It works well and I would say the 30% dry faster is an accurate description.
Next is the E Boost:
I immediately enjoyed this yummy flavor until the last few sips. Those last few sips were just not the same as the beginning. Maybe I made it wrong (which is very hard to believe.) Jillian Micheals is on the website, so this is probably really healthy stuff.
Next is the Lipshine from NYC:
I love it! Its not sticky! Its nice and shiny! It keeps my lips moisturized. This is a good color for anyone: Nude York City. I might want to get some other colors of this product.
Next is coupons (I'd say coupon but it doesn't sound right here):
This is a coupon for a discount of off shoes. I love shoes and am deciding whether to use it or not. I need more time in the day to browse. I am forever browsing and rarely actually buying. This could be a problem but then again its not a problem (poor checkbook doesn't see enough coming in.)
I have yet to try the next two products but I'm planning on it soon. I need a spa day for the mask and the nails (not pictured yet.) I am sure the oatmeal is good but I haven't had this flavor yet.
I can't wait to get these cuties on my nails from Kiss!

It is time to link up for the Secret Santa Swap! I received the sweetest package from Sharee' at Mom Fitting It All In. I sent some goodies to Kristen at The Wright Stuff.
Below are my goodies from Sharee':
This will be framed
 Didn't survive the trip :(
 Super cute spoon!
Thanks to Paige at Eloping Stethoscope and Katlyn at The Dreamy Meadow for organizing the entire swap!
I am linking up with Lauren at From My Grey Desk. Please stay tuned for Silly Saturday: Christmas Edition.

Weekend Reviews

It is time for a weekend recap and I have decided to review the places we went to. I am not being compensated in any way for these reviews. Friday night, we went to Tapwerks and enjoyed a good beer along with happy hour nachos. We really like this establishment however the service was a tad slow compared to what we usually get. Lately, the booths have been filled up so we have taken to sitting at the bar. Often that is a good spot to sit but this night we were surrounded by annoying people. We will be going back, possibly next Friday.
After we were done enjoying Tapwerks, we went to Flint. This fine establishment is inside the Colcord hotel which is owned by a very large oil company. It was a quiet Friday evening. I wanted to sit next to the fire to warm up but all those seats were filled. We sat at the bar instead. There is some construction that needs to be completed at Flint. For that reason we had to enter through a side door. There was an Astin Martin parked outside. There were some yummy sounding snacks on the bar menu but we were there just for drinks. I ordered a Tequila Essence and Hubby ordered The New Old Fashioned. The drinks were spectacular. I have been there once before and ordered a cotton candy martini which was delicious and entertaining. We will definitely come back to Flint, possibly for snacks.

For lunch Saturday, we decided to head over to Pei Wei in the midst of a crazy thunder, lightening, and buckets of rain storm. I was concerned but we made it there in one piece. Whew! I had a lovely chopped chicken salad with dressing on the side. It was very healthy. Hubby enjoys the honey seared chicken.
We went to whole foods for our weekly groceries and found live mussels! I am excited to eat that for dinner tonight. Once we returned home, so did the crazy storms. We stayed in for a very long time. Once the weather appeared to settle down, we headed to McNellies. I savored the Pumpkin by Shipyard and Hubby enjoyed a Chimay. We also decided to split a burger with sweet potatoe fries. It was perfect! There's a mug club that we are considering joining. It would give us an excuse to go to McNellies more often. I plan to go there on Wednesday because there is a $3 burger special. The place packs out for the special but its a lot of fun for me.

That's our weekend in a nutshell. It was a lot of fun and I am looking forward to doing it again next weekend. How was your weekend?

High Five For Friday

The last two weeks have been a flurry of travel. The epic vacation to Sandals La Toc with the five flights home was first. Currently, we are celebrating the bride and groom's wedding tonight. The last two weeks have been a blur of food, drinks, and fun. Next week, life will be back to the normal routine. In honor of the wedding, here is some white photos from my Jamaica Sandals trip. All taken with the canon elph. END

Revitalized Synergy

Dear bloggy friends, Thank you for your inspiring posts. I am feeling ready to blog again. I plan to link up with you on all sorts of interesting posts such as High Five for Friday and the Instagrid party. I love your stories and hopefully you will enjoy mine. I will be sharing more about myself, my life, and my photos. I am passionate about many things including music (I am in the Copa Reefers band!), art, nutrition, fitness, stress relief, and pets (I have two Bengal kitties.) My goals from this online adventure is to have fun, meet new bloggy friends, and learn from others. I hope to have 100 readers by the end of the year. Someday I would like to make some money from this venture but I'm not in a rush for that. ;) One final question: how has blogging enriched your life? END

Busy weekend

I have been so busy this weekend. I have moved two minivan loads into the new storage unit. I volunteered at a race. I have packed more boxes. I even made a batch of cookies.

It's been a fun weekend too. I invited my girlfriends to come over for girls night. We had fun chatting and watching a movie. I can't wait to move and have another girls night.

I am still praying for a miracle. My condo in Denver needs someone to live in it. God will provide.

Is it just me, or do weekends seem busier than the workweek?

Baseball Thursday

I may not be good on my diet today. I may not have someone to join me. I am at a baseball game at Redhawks stadium. I have a great seat and I'm partaking of dollar beer night. This is a great diversion to keep my mind off of lonely feelings. I won't be lonely long. I love to be busy too so this is my turn to do stuff and have fun. I won't let the time go to waste. I will do good!

Dear Lord, thank You for Your blessings. Amen.

Sandals

Dear Sandals,
I had so much fun at my last trip! I can't wait to go again! I have to wait until September but hopefully time will fly by. I love all the amenities and activities and food! I ate so good that I had two dinners! You always make my favorite drinks and I appreciate the hospitality that you provide. I always feel at home at Sandals.

Dear September,
Please hurry up and get here!
Thanks.

Thanks

I am not sure what happened yesterday but today definitely turned out better. I accomplished so much! When I got off work, I did one load of laundry and I put the dishes away. That deserves tons of kudos.

Stress is a problem and when it gets to be too much I can get into all sorts of trouble: eating my emotions, wallowing in my emotions, losing my zeal for fun things.

I have crossed this bridge before.  I am trying to remember the way and using mindfulness techniques. At this point in time, I am not safely across the bridge but I will get there again.  Thanks for your prayers and support. I will send my prayers and support your way, if you tell me. Happy hump day friends!

Zumba

Things I've learned from Zumba:
1) Zumba is so much fun and I can't stop smiling when I'm in the class.
2) My feet and hands don't coordinate together.
3) The music is so much fun!
4) Shaking booty is a great workout for the abs.
5) My lack of coordination does not ruin the class for me.
6) This is a workout that actually gets me to sweat, unlike the elliptical.

Don't be surprised if I blog about Zumba in the future. I just started this week.
