Half marathon training

@goldsgym for my #halfmarathontraining and the #treadmill stopped at 2.90 unexpectedly! I didn't make it to 3 miles like I had planned. 😡 #intervaltraining is working good for my #injuredankle. The #sprain was really bad because it hurt to drive for months. Fortunately, that's healed but my ankle is not at 100 %. #runner #runnergirl #womenrunning #runnerproblems #injuredrunner #okc #ok #okwb #myoklahoma #runokc #runok #nike #nikerunner #run

Chomps has decided to not eat the wet food that is usually his favorite. At first I thought it was me he didn't like but he's done it to Ryan too. There's nothing wrong with the food and I don't want to toss it. He may have to skip dinners until he understands it's not gonna be a fresh can every day.

Running and August goals

@grammylicious_ww tagged me for #stopdropandchug which I definitely needed today during and after @redcoyoterunning #packpintrun! My #injuredankle was not cooperating tonight but at two miles I found a good stride. I walked the last mile as a cool down. I'm on my second bottle of #water. I'm #happy with today's #halfmarathontraining #run. #runner #runnergirl #womenrunning #runnerproblems #injuredrunner #okc #ok #okwb #myoklahoma #runokc #runok #nike #nikerunner #run
I made it my goal to not drink any form of alcohol Monday through Thursday. And then on August first, I forgot when I was at The Root working details out for an impromptu show for my hubby. I was beer pressured or peer pressured into a glass. Afterwards, I remembered. D'oh!
I managed to lose 2 pounds on Wednesday. Here's hoping more will follow with this new reduction in alcohol.
August is the start of half marathon training, which means running 4 days a week instead of 3. I'm looking forward to a good season but my ankle is still healing. I'm not sure how well that's going to go. Fingers crossed!

Stuff and Things

-I'd like to thank the bloggers that commented on yesterday's post. Your sweet comments always help me out!
-The half marathon training is back on for Route 66 in Tulsa. This time, I'm running by myself on purpose. I'll be running intervals because those hills are mountainous.
-My nutrition has not been spot on. Thankfully, I'm not the only one with an expanding waistline. Misery does love company.
-Tomorrowish, will be a legit post on this beer and the Red Earth Brewers club meeting. I say -ish because I hate commitment and body pump starts at 5:30 am.

Half marathon training

I am back at the training for the Route 66 half marathon in Tulsa.
Some things I took away from the last half were, I could have run faster. I was hanging with someone and I hate to leave people behind. I think I'm gonna have to on this next race. I don't need to hold myself back just to run with a friend.
Doing the 5k after taught me another lesson. I can run/walk two races in a day. I used the 5k to stretch out and I think it helped me a lot.
Fall will be here soon and these two cuddle bugs get snuggly when it's colder.
I'm making plans to practice the piano more. I don't have a recital scheduled but I'd like to be able to play my pieces from memory again.
Thursday will be the debut of my beer. It's good (I had to try it) and I'm expecting lots of people will enjoy it. Cheers!

Beer watch: day 1

The closet smells like beer and the yeast is feasting on all the sugars I've prepared.
It's more active than the last batch and it's very exciting. If all goes to plan, bottling will be on Sunday.
In other news, my knee still hurts and it was likely a bad idea to run this morning. I ran at my slowest pace and I stretched a lot before and after.
Chomps decided not to pose for me but I took the pic anyways.
I'm still enjoying making the instagrams with the verse in it. It's something I look forward to doing every day. Although, I assume I'll run out of photos.
In closing, I am considering a new name for the blog. Something to do with beer, because I plan on making that my brewery's name too. Perhaps beer and running would be appropriate. I don't want to sound like the crazy cat lady but incorporating cats or kitties would be cool too. Brainstorming will commence tomorrow.

Half marathon training update

My Last night I ate Argentinian pizza and empanadas to prepare for today's long run.
Heaven in my mouth!
My Argentinian friends are big fans of cheese. I am too.
I was worried about blisters from Thursday's running. I had blisters on both heals. I made it to the end but realized that the blisters hasn't healed all the way.
I still had a funny smile on my face. I may have lost a toenail on my right foot. That toe is unfortunately swollen and leaking. You're welcome for not showing that to you.
The half is on October 4th. I'll probably have to run in an older pair because of this toe situation. That's why old shoes stick around. My body heals quickly but I am concerned.
A 12:41 pace and 11 miles in 2 hours and 19 minutes. I think that would put me at a sub 3 hour half but not 2:30. I will be a happy camper once I've crossed the finish line.
After the half, I plan on walking a 5k for active recovery and for beer. It's called runtoberfest and its sponsored by Red Coyote. I may regret this decision on Sunday October 4th.
Chomps is distracting me so I better wrap this up. Tomorrow I'll be brewing beer. Maybe blogging too. We shall see how the weekend shakes out.

Happy Friday!

The half marathon training is going well. Tomorrow will be 8 miles! Whew!
I'm really getting into Instagram and recently discovered that I can make cool pics with verses on it from the youversion app.
And then I discovered I can use my own pics from my iPhone.
I legitimately have no idea why I took a picture of the metal counter but it works great with a filter and a verse. I have two posts to write. One on the Picasso cafe vegetarian dinner and the other on a local company making healthy nuts. That should be interesting. Besides that, I want to keep you updated on the half marathon training and there will be another brewing beer series next month.
I know I'm not the most consistent blogger but hopefully I'm still interesting.

Updates on stuff and things

1-Half marathon training is in full swing. I'm kicking some miles butt!
2-I'm losing weight and gaining weight. I've been more consistent with myfitnesspal (esthernorine, friend me!). Last week was a 3 pound loss and this week a 1 pound gain. Here's to next week where I hope to lose 1 pound with my hard work and half marathon training.
3-Going to Cuppies and Joe tonight in OKC. It will be amazing and I will have the calories freed for it.
From Picasso cafe and not Cuppies and Joe
4-I'll be at the vegetarian dinner at Picasso cafe next Tuesday for food heaven.
5-When it cools down, I'll be seeing beer. It's too hot here to adequately chill the wort.
PS does it seem like I'm obsessed with food? Maybe a little. I guess that's why I'm always trying to lose weight.

Half marathon training - an update

The Memorial Half/Whole Marathon is the largest race in Oklahoma City and possibly the state. This will be my first year participating. Since I just ran the Go Girl Half, my training for the next race has not been spot on.
This would be in part to the upcoming holiday. I also took 4 days off of running after the half. If I maintain focus, I'll get 7 miles this week and 9 next. The race will be here before I know it. 9 miles on vacation is ambitious and may have to be accomplished when I return.
Upon further reflection, I can eat more when I'm running long distances. Maybe I'll run tons and that will balance out the extra calories. (New sunnies for the trip!)

Brewing beer and half marathon training

I have to drink about 20 more of these delicious Rogue beers because I want my brew to be in pink bottles only. My plan is to paint over the Rogue label with chalkboard paint and then I can write what I've brewed on the label.
We intended to run 10 miles but fate had other plans. Both phones (mine and Celeste's) failed to tell us when we reached 5 miles. We turned around way past our mark and basically ran 11 miles. Next Saturday is taper week and then it's race weekend! Woohoo!
