Weight Loss Wednesday

Dear friends, welcome to weight loss Wednesday. I love all your encouragement and I need your support. Currently, I'm out of town for training. My eating has not been so great since leaving home. I have managed to consume a beer a night except last night, which was two beers. I've also managed to get to the gym for my regular work out. I found the scale yesterday and haven't found any pounds yet. I doubt that will continue. My dinners have been salads and I've turned to snacks to keep me from dozing off during training. This will last until the end of the month and I'm hoping to find a good balance. I'm off to go run 2 or 2.5 miles. How has it been for you? Please stay tuned for thankful Thursday.

Make a Difference Monday

Welcome to Make a Difference Monday. This is where I like to showcase volunteerism, encouraging each other, and all things positive. Today, I would like to share with you my current project. I am on a committee that is organizing a bowling tournament in Oklahoma City, called "Fins for Pins". It's sponsored by the Central Oklahoma Parrothead Association. Yes, I am a Parrothead and proud of it.
We party for a purpose.
"Fins for Pins" benefits the Work Activity Center in Moore, Oklahoma. This fine organization gives disabled adults the opportunity to have a steady job and contribute to the economy. Without this center, they would not have jobs. We are currently looking for lane sponsors and if you are interested please comment below and I'll get back to you right away. I am not very good at fundraising because I don't like to ask for money but I try to give back where I can.
Please stay tuned for Top Pic Tuesday.

Make a Difference Monday

Welcome to Make a Difference Monday. I try to highlight positivity, giving back to the community, and making the world a better place. Sometimes, I don't have a story but rather a short passage to encourage you. I have found that when I need a boost, other people do too. Making a difference does not have to be big.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares The Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11 NIV.

I hope you are encouraged and please share with others. I am linking up today with Julie at This Gal Cooks for Marvelous Mondays. Please stay tuned for Top Pic Tuesday.

Make a Difference Monday

Welcome to Make a Difference Monday. I would love to have lots of encouragement or a nice little story for you today. I do not have that. Instead, I will share a verse, which will hopefully encourage you to have a positive week. Proverbs 3:5 "With all your heart you must trust the LORD and not your own judgment." CEV I'm linking up with Julie from This Gal Cooks for Marvelous Mondays. Please stay tuned for Top Pic Tuesday.

Weight loss Wednesday

Last Saturday, I weighed in and that pesky pound had crept back. I'd really like to lose 7 pounds but lately I'm going back and forth between 6 & 7. It's getting frustrating! I know that my workouts need to be a little more intense and my nutrition needs to be better. Weight loss has been a very long journey for me. The destination is never found but I keep heading towards my goal.

I know I'm not the only person on this journey. Does anyone have any encouragement or tips to share? The photo is from last weekend's bachelorette party when I ate tons bit didn't eat the cupcake. Yay me!
Its Hump Day!

Today's accomplishment

It was a long day, full of internal struggles and challenges. I want to do a really good job but sometimes that is hard to do. Its especially hard for myself and any other first-born kids out there. Traditionally the first-born comes into the world with a certain amount of perfectionism.

Today’s accomplishment was going to Peoples Church and it was a great encouragement. I met some people and had a good conversation about humility. I am always praying for wisdom but tonight I am very thankful for all the goodness that God has given me and I was reminded of that tonight.

Positive Thinking

Today’s rating is Positive.

I haven’t officially counted all of the strategies I use to combat stress but I use a lot of different techniques. I have never used drugs, even during the most depressing and darkest of days. Typically, I stick to natural holistic methods. Today’s tip is to think positively. Its easy to do when life is smooth sailing but needs to be a conscience daily effort.

I am usually a positive, upbeat, friendly person. When things overwhelm me and get me down it is hard to keep thinking positive thoughts. I have read about self-fulfilling prophecies and I’ve learned that what we think will happen usually does. I have been successful with positive thinking because I have good friends. If you find yourself having a difficult time thinking positively, then you should ask a friend for encouragement. It makes all the difference.

Tough day: could be an understatement

Today’s rating is Negative.

Work was hazardous to my health today. One issue had me so stressed that I couldn’t breathe properly. It took a lengthy amount of time to relax and breathe again. Afterwards, I went to the gym to try and cheer up with positive endorphins. I had my first workout with a personal trainer and I felt like a failure. I am a weakling when it comes to throwing balls and doing the plank.

How I overcame these challenges:

I prayed to God and that helped a little. I asked for positive feedback and I got some encouragement from my mom. I also accomplished a task that I don’t like but needs to be done, I vacuumed the floor. I have to remember that tomorrow is a new day. I can leave the issues, struggles, and poor thinking behind me. Thank you Lord for helping find the strength! Thank you friends for your encouragement too!
