Hair and bloggers

I walked into Flux Salon with a lovely French braid, done by me. My stylist took the pic for me. I walked out of the salon with a fresh color and it feels wonderful!
If you're in Oklahoma City, April owns the salon and does a great job. When I got home, I had a box waiting for me from Kristin at Stuff and Things. Actually the box had been waiting on me for a few days because I hadn't sent Kristin her box yet.
She did a great job of spoiling me with treats and she didn't forget the kitties.
The magnet from Manitou Springs graces my fridge next to my prized bumper sticker from Portland Oregon (a place I like to call home.)
The colors mug fits marvelously in my "you were here" collection from Starbucks. (Side note:I used to live there and have a mug from the prior collection. The new collection stacks.)
The bracelet looks cute next to my Nike fuel band. I keep the fuel band on at all times. I love using it!
The notebook is so cute with the arrows. I'm deciding on how I'll use it, I dug into the peanut butter cups right away and then stuck it in the freezer for future enjoyment. I think Kirby likes the toys. I didn't write a little note. I just shipped the box off and I meant to buy a Starbucks gift card but didn't get a chance. #bloggerfails Next time, I'll have to do better.
Final note: I'm working with April at Flux Salon to see if she'd buy one of Ryan's paintings. She asked that I tag her on his instagrams and I did. Ryan was not pleased with me because some of his instagrams are not for sale and he doesn't like his early paintings. So, if you get a chance, check out ryanchristopherart on Instagram and peruse his posts. I think his work is great and maybe you will too.

Tip Tuesday

The holidays are fast approaching and the holiday eating has already started for me. If you have fallen off the wagon, don't beat yourself up and don't wallow in the past.

Look to the future! Starting right now, you can be healthier. Truthfully, if you can learn portion control, the treats won't over take you this year.

If you have overdone it eating find time for a walk and load up on water. The exercise will help to burn off the calories and the water will flush your system. Saturday, I walked for 8.5 miles in 2 hours and 17 minutes. I think its time for new shoes though because my knee has been hurting since. I discovered some of the pain can be eased through stretching and I'll be stretching my knee back to normal in no time.

Please come back for more healthy living tips and weight loss encouragement. If you need someone to help you reach your goals, let me know! I'd love to help you!

Patience

Patience is tough. It is not a virtue found naturally in me. Patience is necessary. In the period of time, when I'm learning to be patient, I am growing too. I forget how to be patient and find its a lesson that needs to be retaught regularly. Patience is good and learning to be patient can bring tasty treats that are the perfect temperature. Patience leaves me with time to contemplate and come up with the perfect response. In the end, patience is good, necessary, and challenging.

Dear Lord, thank you for the challenge of learning patience. Your timing is the right timing and I am learning to remember that nothing is wrong except its not the right time.

Treats

Scones can be really good, especially fresh from the oven. Scones can also be very dry and crumbly. Generally, scones are yummy but the best scones are Buttermilk Scones. I picked up the recipe from my mom and I'm not sure where she got it from. If you are interested in trying the best, melt in your mouth, scones please give me your email address and I'll be happy to share. Its important to share tasty treats with each other.

The last time I made this recipe, I cut the scones into 16ths. They were too skinny and fell over but you can't tell in the photo!
