High Five For Friday Food Edition

It is high time for High Five for Friday the food edition. I have instagrammed the heck out of all my meals to prove to you and myself that I am slowly moving in the right direction nutritionally. Although, Wednesday's lunch was a set back (any potluck day at work will be like that and I'm just accepting my choices and moving on.) Happy Friday friends!
Sunday scones: let me know if you are interested in the recipe.

Monday dinner was soba noodles, teriyaki sauce, broccoli and overcooked cod. Oops, I went overboard on the zip n steam. I am no chef over here and I am surprised when I successfully make dinner.  Tuesday lunch at Cafe 7. I did great ordering my salad dry but I caved on the cookie. I've been eyeing those cookies for awhile now and decided it was time to break down while I was already there. Wednesday night dinner with left over soba noodles, pumpkin, corn and edamame. Hmm, I forgot the protein but I didn't forget to pair dinner with a pumpkin ale brewed locally.  Clearly this isn't everything I've eaten all week but I documented enough. Weightloss Wednesday

This week, I feel that I have eaten better. Here's what wasn't so healthy: Monday, I had a tall Salted Caramel Mocha Frappaccino with soy from Starbucks (I love that drink!) Tuesday I had a red velvet cookie from Cafe 7. The rest of the time, I have been doing really good. Sunday, which was not a very healthy day, I did make buttermilk scones thanks to my mom's recipe. I decided to make it a bit more healthy by replacing one cup of regular flour with wheat. The experiment was a success. Thank Goodness! At my last weigh in, I lost a negligble amount of weight. Still better than a gain. I won't be able to weigh in for a couple of weeks but my goal is to continue to focus on my nutrition. How have you done lately?

Treats

Scones can be really good, especially fresh from the oven. Scones can also be very dry and crumbly. Generally, scones are yummy but the best scones are Buttermilk Scones. I picked up the recipe from my mom and I'm not sure where she got it from. If you are interested in trying the best, melt in your mouth, scones please give me your email address and I'll be happy to share. Its important to share tasty treats with each other.

The last time I made this recipe, I cut the scones into 16ths. They were too skinny and fell over but you can't tell in the photo!
