Home Tour Part I and Pumpkin Carving

My home greets you with a friendly hello and I think the pumpkins add a nice fall touch. A lot of the house is not finished yet, which is why this is only Part I. Here is the living room and it's fully decorated.

In the early evening we enjoy lots of natural light. Here is the bedroom with the glorious gold chevron paint.

In the mornings, its so bright in our bedroom. I love all the natural light we get at this time of year.

The kitchen is great but there is a definite lack of a pantry. We will have to buy something. I want a butcher block kitchen island on wheels with storage underneath and a pantry or hutch.

The laundry room is functional with a space to fold clothes.

Finally the backyard is fantastic with two patios but we only use one of them.

I hope you enjoyed Part I of our home tour. Now here is some pumpkin carving from last night!

This is my pumpkin masterpiece.

Somebody else is much better at pumpkin carving than I am.

High Five for Friday Fall Swap Reveal

Its high five for Friday and I couldn't be more pleased that I survived another week. This week, I get to reveal some goodies from the "It's the Great Pumpkin Swap" sponsored by my favorite bloggy friends Kristin of Kristin's kNook and Allie at A Day In a Joyful Life. Kudos to both of you for creating a fun swap. My swap buddy was Mei at Diary of a Fair Weather Diver. We had a lot of fun getting to know each other and Mei was so kind to send a little toy for my kitties. Chomps enjoyed the catnip immensely. Please go check out these beautiful ladies blogs and tell them I said hi. (Whenever my hubby is on the phone with his friends or family, I always tell him to say hi for me while he's talking. He doesn't like it but most times he will say "Esther says hi." Hahaha! Really the only person I crack up is me, I'm not that funny to anyone else.)

On a separate note, tonight is the Red Dot Auction at IAO. Hopefully, my photo will get sold and help raise money for this lovely art gallery in downtown OKC. Thanks and please stay tuned for Silly Saturday.

Weight Loss Wednesday

Welcome to weight loss Wednesday. Today I wanted to share my breakfast with you. This week, I spent time on Sunday to prepare steel cut oats. I simmered the oats in milk and then portioned it out for each day. When it came time to eat, I scooped in some pumpkin and sprinkled some cinnamon. It has been completely delicious so far and I'm wondering if it will be good by the end of the week. The oats have a wonderful chew to them, a texture that I'm enjoying. If it works this week, I will do it again because I am working towards reducing my sugar intake. All those easy to make oatmeals have tons of sugar that I don't need.
Its your turn. What tips or tricks have worked for you that you would like to share?
Thanks and stay tuned for Thankful Thursday!

High Five For Friday Food Edition

It is high time for High Five for Friday the food edition. I have instagrammed the heck out of all my meals to prove to you and myself that I am slowly moving in the right direction nutritionally. Although, Wednesday's lunch was a set back (any potluck day at work will be like that and I'm just accepting my choices and moving on.) Happy Friday friends!
Sunday scones: let me know if you are interested in the recipe.

Monday dinner was soba noodles, teriyaki sauce, broccoli and overcooked cod. Oops, I went overboard on the zip n steam. I am no chef over here and I am surprised when I successfully make dinner.  Tuesday lunch at Cafe 7. I did great ordering my salad dry but I caved on the cookie. I've been eyeing those cookies for awhile now and decided it was time to break down while I was already there. Wednesday night dinner with left over soba noodles, pumpkin, corn and edamame. Hmm, I forgot the protein but I didn't forget to pair dinner with a pumpkin ale brewed locally.  Clearly this isn't everything I've eaten all week but I documented enough. I am linking up with Lauren From My Grey Desk
