Hurricane Irma - September 12, 2017
The flight wasn't until after lunch but I needed just a little cash to pay for the taxi to the airport. I tried too early. I was eventually successful and we arrived to the airport. There were no delays in Nassau but when we landed in Charlotte, there was a 2 hour delay. All thanks to Hurricane Irma and the flight crew being delayed elsewhere. We eventually made it home. And when we arrived to work the following day, we were heroes for surviving the hurricane. It was exciting, adventurous, and stressful but ultimately, we were never in any danger and we had a good time. I will be back next year twice to enjoy the Bahamas again. And if there's another hurricane, I will be slightly more prepared.

Travel Tuesday
Relishing in the memories of fantastic trips gone by, I have come to the conclusion that we have brought home some priceless souvenirs. From Egypt, we brought a papyrus painting, a hollow wooden cat, shells from Alexandria, and a wooden scarab beetle. From Australia, we brought photos of us with precious animals at the Australia zoo and a boomerang. From Greece, we brought home a painting and an old photograph of Greece, an olive wood cutting board and wine bottle holder, and a religious icon made by monks with gold. From Jamaica, we brought home a king and queen conch shells and a wooden parrot.
Our home is filled with precious memories of amazing adventures conquered. It is eclectic and interesting. I'm glad we've amassed such a great collection of souvenirs.
This photo is filled with Kirby, Rascal from Egypt, two conch shells, a turret and decorative tea pot from Turkey. Kirby likes to sit next to Rascal just like this.
Kirby, Chomps, the Egyptian papyrus painting and the Greek icon by Chomps head. Do you have any cool souvenirs?Tuesday, October 9, 2012

As time allows I will post a story of my Greece adventure but I don't want to be late.

Adventure
How's this for adventure...
Rent a campervan in a foreign country, don't buy a map, and drive around aimlessly for a few weeks.
Yes, that's what we did in Australia May 2004. It took awhile to find a grocery store. We went where ever we thought would be good. The map was very poor and had me all turned around as the navigator. Driving on the other side of the street was scary. The trip was an epic blast!
In retrospect, I would do another wild adventure like this. However, I would pay the extra dollars to get a good GPS or map. I don't need the stress of being lost while on holiday.
Dear Lord, I pray for Your blessings on my next trip in September and all my future adventures. Amen!

Perfection

My adventure started immediately after work. I quickly changed and got on my bike. I was on a mission to meet with a group of people who bike from pub to pub. Daylight is waning every week, so there wasn’t as much time as the summer. I made it to Joey’s Pizzaria just as most of the group was arriving. I enjoyed a happy hour Bud Light and then enjoyed a Coop Native Amber. Ah...refreshing. Then it was off to the next location, Bossa Nova, where Coop Oktoberfest was on tap. Fabulous! The night was creeping up on me and I hurriedly rushed home since I didn’t have my head lamp with me. Still it was a fun, relaxing, comfortable temperature evening with good conversation and a cardio workout in between places.
What’s a perfect evening for you?
