The Tundra

The tundra is a very special place because of the intense winters, there is a short window of time to be in the tundra to enjoy it.
It actually did snow the week before we arrived. The plants only get about 2 or 3 months to grow as much as possible.
This means that all the grass and flowers don't grow very big.
Soon these fields will be covered in wild flowers of purple and yellow.
After that, the snow will be coming very soon.
I love coming up here in the summer to enjoy the peace and quiet. The wind blows gently and you can hear the neighboring waterfall. I may not be willing to come in the winter, because I hate cold temperatures. When I come in the summer, the tundra is a special place to visit. You can easily visit the tundra in Colorado too.

High Five for Friday!

 photo H54Fbutton_zps973d26e1.png

1- I love Fridays. They are my favorite days of the week. Work seems easier or less stressful and the weekend feels so fresh and exciting.
2- I've been taking workout classes at my local gym and I've been sore in a very good way. Hopefully the scale or my clothes will notice the extra work.
3- I made it out with Runhers for national running day!
4- Beer and summer make me very happy.

5- I have no plans this weekend but to hang out with my hubby and possibly check out the Paseo First Friday arts festival. It will be a good weekend.

Thankful Thursday

Dear friends,
My quest continues to reach 1000 things I am thankful for. Why don't you join me? We are so blessed and its good to remember.
I'm thankful for...
51-hot days
52-cold drinks
53-swimming pools
54-rivers
55-lakes
56-beaches
57-floaties
58-ice cream
59-grills
60-lounge chairs.

You'd think I have plans to go relax for the weekend by some body of water. I do not but clearly I need some time to do nothing. What's your favorite way to enjoy summer? Have you felt the heat yet?

Perfection

My adventure started immediately after work. I quickly changed and got on my bike. I was on a mission to meet with a group of people who bike from pub to pub. Daylight is waning every week, so there wasn’t as much time as the summer. I made it to Joey’s Pizzaria just as most of the group was arriving. I enjoyed a happy hour Bud Light and then enjoyed a Coop Native Amber. Ah...refreshing. Then it was off to the next location, Bossa Nova, where Coop Oktoberfest was on tap. Fabulous! The night was creeping up on me and I hurriedly rushed home since I didn’t have my head lamp with me. Still it was a fun, relaxing, comfortable temperature evening with good conversation and a cardio workout in between places.

What’s a perfect evening for you?
