Pirate thanksgiving and ice

Looking at the photos, I can tell we had a lot of fun! We forgot wine to pair with dinner but the rum was enough to keep us going.
There was way too much food and I ate it all! So yummy!
Over the weekend, we got quite the ice storm. We lost half a cactus, half of this bus hand the neighbors tree fell into our yard.
What a mess! Those bent over trees are back up. I think those guys will make it. ABC News enjoyed my photos and asked for a video. I'm not big on making videos but I was hoping for fame so I did it just for that. We also have a couple of lines that came into our yard with the trees. We are not sure who owns these lines and whether they're for electric, phone or cable. OGE will be out sometime to decide. I think I need a bonfire for all that wood.

How to have a Pirate's Thanksgiving in three easy steps

Step one: drink rum.
It can rum spiked apple cider or diet and rum. But rum must be on the menu.
Step two: wear a pirates hat.
Me last year. This year I could wear the same shirt. We shall see.
Step three: Eat crab legs.
There you have a Pirate's Thanksgiving. Step one should be repeated all day long. Lots pictures should be taken to document the fun!

Weight Loss Wednesday

Welcome to Weight Loss Wednesday. I have to report that I did gain one pound after thanksgiving. It feels as though I'm on a seesaw and I'm constantly going up and down. Frustrating since I need to be going down. I read an insightful post from Kaitlyn at Wiffessionals about portion size.
Yup, I have that problem too. I think my portions have gotten smaller but perhaps not small enough. Here is last nights dinner:
A bed of roasted asparagus, made from scratch Mac & cheese with whole wheat noodles, and sautéed shrimp. Maybe not sautéed, I just through those sweet babies in a frying pan with Pam and roasted the asparagus with Pam. I really don't know the difference between frying, sautéing, or other forms of cooking. I can learn later. Next weigh-in is on Saturday and I'm hoping to go down 1 pound again.
Sigh.
How has your week been?
Please stay tuned for Thankful Thursday.
