Buffalo, New York

We went out to Buffalo New York to visit family. We ate lots of good food!
These are the original Buffalo Wings. I forgot to take the pic but fortunately Blue was on top of it.
We had lots to drink as well. Including, craft beer!
This is a true Beermosa with beer and champagne. It was good!
I got a run in too!
We saw Niagara Falls from the Canadian side. It was a little weird being in Canada on the east coast. I have not done that before. The falls were beautiful and we took a ride on the Hornblower. It's basically the same thing as the Maid of the mist but on the Canadian side.
It snowed while we were there. The look on my face is priceless.
Breakfast burrito with egg whites, avocado and turkey.
We also went to the art museum for some culture. In the end, it was a good but quick trip. It was also not really a vacation. I did have fun touring around the area but there's always a big hassle visiting family because they have kids. Going to the store is a giant ordeal that takes 3 times as long as it normally should.
Obviously, I am pleased to come home to two kitties. Those little furry dudes are work too but they don't get in the way of going to the grocery store and they do sleep a lot.
Beef on weck. Interesting Buffalo roast beef sandwich. The name is more interesting than anything else. In other news, the ankle is healing and I have another physical therapy session tomorrow. The half marathon is just a week away! I am not ready but I am going to have fun!

Stuff and things

++I'm late in posting and linking with Joey and Kristin. Or I'm early for this week. Whichever. I wasn't very motivated last week.
++It snowed, which wreaked havoc in my life. I couldn't run outside! It's only three weeks until the race and my long run was over two weeks ago and it was only 8 miles! I'm psyching myself out. I can totally run a half marathon. I've done two.
++You deserve a good post on the Red Coyote Pack Pint Runs, which will happen when the creative juices are flowing. And that is not today.
++Even without my long run, I still ate pizza. It was glorious. (As all pizza is.)
++I drank some good drinks this weekend. Last week, I maintained my weight. If I don't lose any this week, I'll blame this delicious concoction.
++Some kitties were very cold tonight. This is their finest hour. They aren't talking. If you don't believe how much these guys can talk, just hit up youtube with "talking bengals". You're welcome.

Happy Friday

The last trip to Las Vegas was a whirlwind of activity. The most memorable part was the drive through the Rockies. Its a lovely drive in the summer time, when the mountain breeze feels refreshing. In March, the drive is more akin to sliding through a blizzard. There was a massive wreck that had traffic stopped for what felt like eternity. After getting through the snow, we had no problems. It was later at night when we arrived safely, which was not my favorite. On our return drive, we met with tons of race car traffic that held us up for another hour. The worst was getting through the pass, where we had to deal with two types of drivers: too slow and too fast. There is a delicate balance between the two when driving through a snow storm and sadly most people do not understand how to have balance. The valuable lesson from this story is: buy plane tickets. Its worth the money for the peace of mind.

Do you have any interesting road trips?

The Hunt

Today’s rating is Positive.

I did good at work and I was very productive at home. I’m currently on the hunt for a new job. Its not easy in this economy. I’m not willing to take a job that doesn’t fit me either. Once I am in a job that’s a better fit, so much of my stress will be reduced.

It does look like tomorrow is going to be an interesting day. The weather is potentially going to cause commuting issues. So far, I haven't let snow slow me down. If its enough snow, I might just forget going to the gym for safety’s sake. How does snow affect your commute?
