Stuff and things

It's linking up with Kristin at Kristin's kNook and Joey at Hodges Podges.
My new thing is to take a sweaty selfie after a run. I'm still perfecting the technique.
Close up of Kirby's tongue. He can be cute sometimes.
I've finally got some needed furniture. This is a library table from the 1900's. Now I need to find a spot for the piano and the music room will be complete.
Turns out I'll probably have some work to do, cleaning the house for a party on Saturday. It's our first time having a group of people over! Should be fun!

High Five for Friday: Fly on the Wall edition

Welcome to High Five for Friday, where I love to link up with Lauren at From My Grey Desk.
Today, I am also linking up with Karen at Baking in a Tornado for Fly on the Wall.
This is a writing challenge (for me its a challenge. I have no idea if I did this correctly.)
Snippets that could not be a post are being strung together into one post.

Scene 1:
{A string of meows from Chomps}
Me: Why are you meowing? What do you want?
Geologist: Sometimes he just likes to talk.
Chomps loves to talk...all...the...time. Too bad there's no mute button for a cat.

Scene 2:
{A chorus of meows from Chomps and Kirby}
Me: They've been fed, I don't know why they're meowing.
Geologist: It doesn't seem like they've been fed.

Thankful Thursday and "Pay it Forward"

Dear Chomps and Kirby,
I am so thankful for you. You help me stay happy and positive. Your sweetness melts my heart.
Dear Kirby,
You are so sweet in your little trusting way. You love your head scratched and you love to preen while getting your head scratched. Your silliness makes me smile. You are very adorable and I'm so thankful that you have been a part of my life.
Dear Chomps,
You're so sweet, especially in the morning. I love it when you're tired. You look up at me with sleepy eyes and start to purr as I'm petting you. Your fur is so soft and I love to pet you.

The stress relief I receive from these two furballs is amazing. It has been work and at times frustrating to take care of the kitties but they take such good care of me. They deserve the world!

Please join me in Thankful Thursday and share what you are thankful for.

Pay It Forward!

I've seen this "pay it forward" idea floating around on several different blogs, and when I saw this on Kim's blog the KO Jewelry, I wanted participate in the fun!

Here are the rules:
  • Within a year, I'll create something unique to share with the first three people to comment on this post.
  • In order to receive your present, you have to play along. Spread the love on your own blog!
  • You get 72 hours (3 whole days!) to re-post, or I'll have to move on to the next person.
  • Please Only comment if you're willing to pay it forward!
Doesn't it sound like fun? I'm ready to get started, so let me know if you want in!

High Five For Friday

Dear Bloggy friends,
Thank you for following my blog and posting sweet comments. You have been a blessing to me. I am new to the blogosphere and I'm learning something new everyday.

My top pick for this week is Chomps and Kirby being so very sweet. Try just love head scratches and belly rubs. Band practice was great on Tuesday and I think things are really coming together for Sunday's show. If you're in OKC, please consider coming to JJ's saloon on NW 10th for some good covers and a few originals.

Thankful Thursday

Welcome to Thankful Thursday. Today, I am thankful for my fur babies; Chomps and Kirby. They give me mounds of love, entertainment, and frustration. I adore them, even though they do not adore me. They provide relief from stress, especially when I have had a tough day. Chomps' purr is so sweet and loud. I am a proud pet owner and I want everyone to know how rewarding it is to take care of these sweetie pies. What do you have to be thankful for?

Thankful Thursday

Today, I'm thankful for good food. I'm not a big cooker but I love eating and looking at good food. Thank you Pinterest for keeping me entertained. Some of my favorite memories are around the dinner table (or in this case couch/floor). One time, we were finished eating and the cats were wrestling on the floor. Kirby rolled over Ryan's dinner plate covering himself in hot wing sauce. It was sad but hilarious to watch him clean up. After every lick, he was shaking his head. Cats just don't understand spicy food. Strangely enough, this is the very same cat that has decided Cheetos are treats.

Please note all these photos are copy writed. I took these with my iPhone. As much as I love Pinterest, I will still only post my photos. So what are you thankful for today?

Bengal Cats Rule

We are interrupting the usual blog post. Chomps and Kirby are taking over. My name is Chomps (gray kitty) and I'm named after a movie about a dog. My human companions are crazy like that and I truly hate anything dog related. My favorite activities are talking and sleeping. I'm never afraid to speak my mind especially when I don't get my way. I'm an athletic jumper and have broken many fragile items. My favorite human is Ryan and I just love to curl up next to him. My name is Kirby (brown kitty) and I'm named after a vacuum cleaner. My human care takers thought that was a funny name. My favorite activities are sleeping and eating. Sometimes I like to run around and scream at the top of my lungs. When I want to be heard, I'm like a lion. I'm not really big on jumping or purring but I do love to play. I'll play in the toilet or with a mouse. The toilet is not usually open for me. My human care takers have been very good to me and I repay the favor by accepting head scratches. Shhh, don't tell them I love head scratches. We are very good pets for indoors especially if you love to hear us talk. One of these days we will share our stories. They're pretty funny stories too! Thanks for enjoying this post by Chomps and Kirby. END

High Five For Friday!

It's high five for Friday!
Yay!
The photos of doors are from my daily walk to and from work. I thought they were interesting. At times, I'll take random photos for that reason. You decide if you think it's cool looking.

I enjoyed lunch at Nebu this week and it was delish! Looks pretty too!

The ice bag hanging from a fan was our attempt to cool our over heated sound board from a couple of weeks ago. Hopefully that's not repeated tomorrow. Hahaha!

Finally Chomps posed for me this week and Kirby didn't so I'm using an old photo of him. Both kitties are sweet and adorable. END Photobucket

Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful for Chomps and Kirby. These furry sweethearts have been instrumental in helping me reduce stress. I love their sweet purrs and loving glances.

Several years ago, I was fired from my job and incredibly depressed. I was sitting on the floor and quietly crying to myself. (FYI crying has its purpose too.) Chomps came over and curled up in my lap. He started purring as loud as he could. Animals can be very sensitive to their human companions and they try to help us feel better.

Do you have a sweet story of how your pet rescued you?

Hear our roar

We are Bengal cats and we love to talk. Sometimes we sound like a leopard, our distant relatives. We are part housecat and part Asian Leopard and that's why we look so exotic and spotted. Our names are Chomps (gray) and Kirby (brown.) We play and sleep and eat together.

We talk to our companions about our day, or needing food, or our opinion on the Presidential election. We expect our companions to vote Republican and we would too if cats were allowed to vote. Talking is our second favorite activity to sleeping. We sleep about 20 hours a day.  We conserve all our energy so we can talk to our companions when they are home.  We are Bengal cats.
H*E*A*R our R*O*A*R*!
