The Tundra

The tundra is a very special place because of the intense winters, there is a short window of time to be in the tundra to enjoy it.
It actually did snow the week before we arrived. The plants only get about 2 or 3 months to grow as much as possible.
This means that all the grass and flowers don't grow very big.
Soon these fields will be covered in wild flowers of purple and yellow.
After that, the snow will be coming very soon.
I love coming up here in the summer to enjoy the peace and quiet. The wind blows gently and you can hear the neighboring waterfall. I may not be willing to come in the winter, because I hate cold temperatures. When I come in the summer, the tundra is a special place to visit. You can easily visit the tundra in Colorado too.

Thankful Thursday

Welcome to thankful Thursday! Today, I am thankful for rain. The last two full days have been glorious in Oklahoma City. Rain has been ever present. Coming from the rainy portion of Oregon, I find rain to be comforting. Cozy like a cup of tea or a fuzzy pair of slippers. It's a part of life that brings gorgeous flowers. How could you not smile when looking at flowers? That is impossible.

Please stay tuned for high five for Friday.

Top Pic Tuesday

If God can create such stunning beauty that lasts for a second, then isn't laughable that I worry about my problems. I love taking photos of flowers. They are absolutely gorgeous but don't last long at all. (Especially if I am taking care of the plant since I do not have a green thumb.) I am very thankful to God for taking care of my needs, even when I don't realize he is at work (which is probably most of the time.) Please remember, if you would like to borrow these photos, you can but link back to me. If you would like a hard copy, I would love to get it printed for you and sent out, free of charge. I love to share.
Please stay tuned for Weight Loss Wednesday.
I'm linking up with Melissa at The Life of A Not So Ordinary Wife.

Top Pic Tuesday

Rough start: I locked myself out of my apartment and had to wake up the manager. Oops.
Work out: 28 minutes elliptical & 100 crunches and I did get sweaty which is good.
Photo: Flowers know how to smile and these are just adorable.
Prayer: I'm praying today is a better day than yesterday. Work is slowly becoming a big struggle and I need to focus on the positives.

Teeny tiny flower

Often, I prefer to post photos of flowers that I have taken. Flowers are very sweet and the smell can be rejuvenating. Its easy to forget the little flowers when stress starts to overwhelm you. If you can keep flowers close by, you can reduce some stress. I can get so wound up in life and challenges that its hard to relax and unwind. Little flowers can help.

Take time to enjoy the little flowers.

Flowers

The smell. The sight. The touch. Flowers are relaxing and rejuvenating. Did you have a tough day or rough week? A little treat for flowers can pick you up. Try it!

On a side note, most things have settled down here. I have family visiting and it's a huge blessing.

Volunteer

Volunteering opens one up to many possibilities. I met new people. I found interesting businesses. I enjoyed connecting with my neighbors. I also enjoyed a massive bouquet of flowers

Volunteering is good on so many levels: personal, professional, mental, and social. All of these needs are uniquely met with volunteering. I am looking forward to helping again soon. The experiences I have enjoyed are a blessing. Besides the volunteering, I enjoyed the free wine and food.

Overwhelmed? Probably so...

Today’s rating is Positive.

My tip for stress relief is to find something green and keep it in your eye sight. Green is a calming color. This could be flowers, bamboo, or a picture of something natural and green.

I may get to move soon but there are a lot of details to figure out. There’s cats, property management, what to keep and what to get rid of. In the midst of all these overwhelming tasks, I am still waiting to hear about the job I interviewed for. I haven’t waited long at all though. I am praying for patience and for things to work out smoothly.

Right now, it is challenging to stay positive.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Today’s rating is positive.

I had flowers delivered to me at work and it brightened up my day! I also reconnected with a friend through facebook and this was someone who was in my wedding over 10 years ago. It was great to be able to find her on facebook and add her to my list of friends. I plan on emailing her and catching up. Its been too long! Is there a friend you would like to reconnect with? If so, maybe you can find that person on facebook too!

These are the flowers that were delivered to me.
