Make A Difference Monday

It's make a difference Monday, a time to share encouraging stories of volunteering and nonprofits. We can all make our world a little better. I have a good friend who I share verses with. It's a small way to encourage her. There were two verses recently that I wanted to share with you as well. I hope this encourages you.

Make A Difference Monday

Dear friends, welcome to make a difference Monday. I feel it's important to look for opportunities to make our community a better place. In my bible studies today a verse has spoken to that as well. My hope is you will be encouraged. "Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, (Hebrews 10:24 WEB)"

How do you improve your community? I am looking for stories for guest posts. If you would like to share your experience, please email me at estherdavison@gmail.com. Please stay tuned for Weight Loss Wednesday.

Make a difference Monday: soap box edition

Welcome to Make a difference Monday.
The tragic news has left me thinking, what can I do?
I would like to encourage you.
Have you been left distraught and upset by the tragedy?
Don't wallow in misery but rather use that energy for good.
Find a local organization that needs volunteers.
Your sadness will be transformed into accomplishment and you will feel better.
Giving money is good too but that doesn't give as many warm fuzzies.
I started giving blood after 9/11 because I know I'm helping to save lives. I was not personally affected by 9/11 but was still quite upset. The act of giving back, helped me feel good.
Please stay tuned for tomorrow's vigil for Newtown, CT.

Roof or party deck?

There's live music, energetic conversation, sunny skies. It's a good night to be out at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art.

Yesterday, I listed my top 5 and it was a fun exercise in focusing on the positives of a day. I would like to continue that to today and encourage you to do the same. Staying positive is not easy but it's good for your health.
My top 5 for Thursday:
1: I had a Lara bar for snack, yummy!
2: I shared tips with my coworkers to help with sales.
3: It rained today, so refreshing!
4: I came up with a new career plan.
5: I came to the museum to have a good time.

Feel free to share your top 5 with me or at least write it down. It is a valuable activity.

It's another fresh start

Today’s rating is Positive.

I managed to get really frustrated and upset at work and then turn things around before the end of the day. I was upset because I thought that one of two things were going to happen: 1) my move would be messed up or 2) I’d miss out on the bonus payout. Through my strong negotiation skills, I managed to tread some tough waters and find a happy ground for myself and the company. What’s weird is I have to work one hour on my last day to qualify for the bonus. Its totally worth it.

I met up with a friend for dinner which was great! We needed to catch up and hang out. I hope to hang out a few more times before moving. Its always encouraging to be around good company. I also met my neighbor, who is a nice guy going through a rough patch. If I can get through tough times, I bet he can too.

At the end of the day, I can say its been a success. Tomorrow, I will be working on prettying the home up for showings. Thanks for your prayers and Happy Weekend!

Wonderful Weekend

The weekends rating is Positive.

Friday, my friend came over and we had fun watching tv, playing Yahtzee and having a few drinks. Saturday, I went to another friend’s house. We watched a movie, ate leftovers, and fresh baked brownies. YUM! It was a lot of fun!

As I tried a new church today, I realized that I don’t need church. I need people who love God, who want to have fun with me, and who want to encourage and possibly push me to love others more. We all need people around us to do the very same things. We help each other out and that’s how God created us, relational beings that need to be with others.

I have let relationships fall aside. Possibly for quite stupid reasons. I now ask for forgiveness and if you want to reopen those doors with me, please email me at estherdavison@rocketmail.com. I welcome opening old friendships and creating new ones. Lets walk life together and try to have some fun too.
