Me on a Tuesday

If you are reading this blog, God bless you. Like many bloggers I've lost my mojo and like all bloggers I still think I'm entertaining.
We switched the cat crunchies and now we have a sick cat with diarrhea. I've bleached the old litter box and I'm trying to decide if using bleach on the floor will make the cats more sick. I'm grossed out and washing my hands after every task.
The half marathon training continues and one toenail is gone. Just a little nub is left in its place. I'm praying for healing. Fortunately there's not that much pain. (I also wonder, is it really a lot of pain and I just have a high tolerance? I don't know.)
Tomorrow, I'll weigh in and likely regret the beer from the weekend. Is YOLO really true? Something to ponder on.
I attempted to work on my Rosetta Stone French but the computer wouldn't register when I was talking. I thus gave up and am now listening to tunes and hitting up the yarn. Yes, I crochet. It's relaxing. I need to relax after all that cat poop.

Beer watch day 1

This is the part of brewing beer that is not exactly blog friendly. This airlock is bubbling but very slowly. The yeast is eating it's feast.
This waiting game can be 4 to 6 days. But after that I'll still have to wait 48 hours before I can take my hydrometer reading.
I'll keep you updated on the beer progress but I certainly can't promise exciting photos. Maybe Chomps will pose for me.
While in waiting, I'm getting back to my blanket. It will be a crocheted masterpiece if I can find that multicolored yarn. Let me know if you see it.

Make a Difference Monday

Dear Bloggy Friends,
Whenever possible it is good to give back to your community. Find your passion and volunteer with it. I enjoy too many hobbies to count (oops.) On occasion, I can be found volunteering at an art gallery or I have taught piano lessons to under-priviledged children. I have plans to crochet scarves for the needy and someday I hope to learn how to make hats (round seems too hard at the moment.) I love animals but could never volunteer with them. If an opportunity came to run a race or volunteer at an auction, I would happily oblige. There's never a shortage of opportunities.

The only problem I have discovered is many of these fabulous non-profits need money. A lot of money. I never have enough for myself (in my own opinion.) I also am not interested in calling people for money or any other type of fundraising. The good news is I can do what I like and it still provides assistance to worthy organizations.

Please tell me what you have done or would like to do. Its always fun to share ideas. I decided it would be fun to change my blog design a little. What do you think?

Make a difference Monday

I strive to make a difference in my community. Over the years, I have found different ways to give back. My current project is to crochet scarves for the needy. It may be 100 plus degrees right now but winter will come. I enjoy making these scarves and this year the beneficiary will be People's Church. I am currently accepting orders for scarves as well. If you would like a handmade cozy warm scarf, please let me know what color. Price is always negotiable since I find the activity to be cathartic. Today, I will smile to as many people as I can. A sincere smile can make anyone's day. Cheers to a good week! END

Make a difference Monday

Make a difference Monday is an important part of my life.  I want to use this series as a way of giving back and as a way of making the world a better place.

Right now, I feel that my world would be better if I was passionate about how I make a living.  There are so many jobs that I am capable of doing but the passion is not there. I will find my dream job someday. In the mean time, I will surround myself with activities I am passionate about. I will continue to write, play piano, take photos, crochet scarves for the needy, read books, travel or dream about travel, bike, run, learn. I will be an active member of toastmasters, COPA, and be a part of my community.

This is what I will do. And when the time is right, the door will open to my dream job.

Dear Lord, please give me the patience to find my dream job and the contentment to enjoy the job I have and the journey to the next opportunity. Amen.
