Serious Sunday

I had written a post about my struggles with my art. Sadly this blogger app ate the post. I am working out my frustrations with the piano and finding balance for all of my pursuits.

While I intend to pursue greater musical skills and knowledge, I am also looking for more time to do more art. I want to be creating and sharing. My current project is making five blankets for my friends having babies.

I hope to find time to do more. Write more. Take more photos. Draw and paint. The passion is in me and now I need to find the time to do it.

Make a difference Monday

Today's post is a tough one to write. I want to share my passion for giving and I want to make my life better. These two concepts go hand in hand together but its challenging for me to articulate what I'm pondering.

Parts of my life are going smoothly and other parts feel stormy. It's the stormy parts that cause me to pause and wonder. How can I make a difference in my community when I want to be selfish and focus on my life? Is there space for both? I believe the answer to be yes and I am praying for God's wisdom to bring that balance to fruition.

If you have any ideas or thoughts, please share with me. The more the merrier is oh so true.

Make a difference Monday

Make a difference Monday is an important part of my life.  I want to use this series as a way of giving back and as a way of making the world a better place.

Right now, I feel that my world would be better if I was passionate about how I make a living.  There are so many jobs that I am capable of doing but the passion is not there. I will find my dream job someday. In the mean time, I will surround myself with activities I am passionate about. I will continue to write, play piano, take photos, crochet scarves for the needy, read books, travel or dream about travel, bike, run, learn. I will be an active member of toastmasters, COPA, and be a part of my community.

This is what I will do. And when the time is right, the door will open to my dream job.

Dear Lord, please give me the patience to find my dream job and the contentment to enjoy the job I have and the journey to the next opportunity. Amen.
