Breakfast Burrito Champions in OKC.

The following is a list of my favorite breakfast burritos in Oklahoma City. I have been to quite a few places and there are more to discover. I have added hyperlinks for you to go and check each place out online.
This beautiful burrito is from Cafe Evoke in Edmond. It's full of egg, cheese, meat, and potatoe. And today it was prepared in advance, which worked out marvelously.
This is an old pic of the yummy insides.
This is the next burrito champion from Kamps 1910 in Oklahoma City. Same high level ingredients and it was definitely another champion in my books.
This larger than life burrito is from Picasso Cafe in Oklahoma City and its on the brunch menu. It was huge and super good! Tons of cheese, meat, eggs and potatoes. The meat is chorizo, a very nice touch. I will say, it is a little too large, which is not a problem.
I absolutely adore this burrito from Fuzzy's Taco Shop, which is a chain with multiple locations. It's the perfect combination of meat, egg and cheese. The bacon is probably my favorite but chorizo and sausage are also options. Isn't bacon always perfect for breakfast burritos?
Honorable mention goes to Perk Place in Edmond. It's super cheesy and there is bacon or sausage as an option. There is no potatoe and it's a little small. So these are the breakfast burrito champions of Oklahoma City. As I get to other places, I will do a Part II.

Red Earth Brewers Club Meeting Recap

First I had to run Pack Pint over at Red Coyote. Then I zipped over to the club meeting.
I got some great pics of the meeting and beer.
I swooned over the cheese.
Selfie pics with my friends.
We were at Capital Distributing and they were sampling this beer. It was good!
I brought one 12 ounce bottle of Sands beer from the Bahamas and I kept the bottle cap. There is a future post on Bahamian beer brewing in my mind.
On the left is John Ment of Ment apparel and he designed the club's shirts. He designed both of these shirts (I think, for sure the beer is OK is his design.)
Down to business. We voted for new board members. There's a new President, Vice President, members at large and treasurer.
Check out my free swag from the beer Grandstand Home Brew scholarship that the club won!
Cheers!
These guys are part of new brewery called Vanessa House. They're just getting started but you can check them out on Facebook.
Lastly from August's club meeting, I got these nuts to try from Healthy Cravings. It's yummy and Picasso cafe serves them at the bar. Thanks Matt for giving me the samples!

Happy

I'm doing the happy dance while I'm listening to "Happy" from Pharrell because I lost 1.6 pounds in 2 weeks!! That means I lost weight on vacation! How is that possible? Truly, I don't know the full reason.

My strategies included, no cheese and try to avoid dairy. I didn't have any cheese! Avoiding dairy all together was not entirely possible (Hello, red velvet cake, which I ate one amazing bite of.) Breakfast included proteins (eggs, bacon, sausage, and my new favorite smoked salmon) and fruit (mostly melons.) Finally, I did my very best to avoid bread. I forgot during one dinner and helped out on the bread basket. I still went hog wild on the drinks but I tried to keep it more towards rum and diet.

I loved the drinks there! Reggae tops, banana daiquiri's, purple rain, blue hawaiian, and then of course the local beer and wine. Why not have wine with dinner or lunch or both? All inclusive resorts are the best.

I almost forgot to mention mimosa's. I'll need to repeat that good decision sometime around here. So successes were had on many fronts (not gaining 5 pounds and having a fantastic trip. Getting home safely was another success.)

The full review of the resort will be coming soon but I can't say when because I need to blog all about it on the computer where the photos are at. #mobilebloggerproblems I would like to say that Sandals Grande Antigua is a fabulous resort, which I will need to revisit ASAP.

National Running Day, recap

Finally, a photo of me in my running gear. I don't usually take photos of myself (short person problems.) I asked someone to snap my photo after the race. I'm proud that I made it through this run. It literally felt like running through hell! It was 90 something and I was just about ready to flop over from the heat and my abs were hating me too. It was a friendly 5K co-sponsored by Elite Feet and Runhers.

It was a timed 5K. When I arrived, check in was easy but there were only so many bibs. They pulled the first 100 names off of Facebook. Fortunately, Coach Sara got me a bib and then silly me, I didn't check my time. I get that way, when knowing the race time isn't that big of a deal. I'm just happy that I made it to the finish line.

After the race, the staff at Elite Feet had prepared a lovely snack table with wine. Naturally, I ate too many of those cucumber sandwiches and cheese (you can't blame me on the cheese). The surprise treat was that lemon bar, it was absolutely heavenly! Sweet tangy and buttery.

All in all, the event was a great way to commemorate National Running Day.

High Five For Friday: Restaurant Edition

Happy friends!

For a little midweek fun, I met a friend up at The Mule for dinner. It became very busy for middle of the week at 7pm. We each enjoyed the fancy pants sandwich. My friend tried the seasonal side of cheese grits and it was lacking in flavor. Our server immediately offered a different side. The fries were seasoned with spices and possibly cinnamon. It had a kick to it. There's a fun chalkboard dedicated to leaving a drink for friend. I was too chicken to ask how that worked. The beer selection was decent with a good variety. Generally, we enjoyed ourselves and the crowd seemed to be in good spirits too. If you want a creative grilled cheese sandwich, this is your place.

I'm linking up with uber cool blogger Lauren from From My Grey Desk.

Have you been to any new places lately?
