National Running Day, recap

Finally, a photo of me in my running gear. I don't usually take photos of myself (short person problems.) I asked someone to snap my photo after the race. I'm proud that I made it through this run. It literally felt like running through hell! It was 90 something and I was just about ready to flop over from the heat and my abs were hating me too. It was a friendly 5K co-sponsored by Elite Feet and Runhers

It was a timed 5K. When I arrived, check in was easy but there were only so many bibs. They pulled the first 100 names off of Facebook. Fortunately, Coach Sara got me a bib and then silly me, I didn't check my time. I get that way, when knowing the race time isn't that big of a deal. I'm just happy that I made it to the finish line.

After the race, the staff at Elite Feet had prepared a lovely snack table with wine. Naturally, I ate too many of those cucumber sandwiches and cheese (you can't blame me on the cheese). The surprise treat was that lemon bar, it was absolutely heavenly! Sweet tangy and buttery.

All in all, the event was a great way to commemorate National Running Day.

I love all comments, questions, and positive feedback. Constructive criticism is questionable. Joking, a little. :)
