Obligatory running shoes photo.
As I've been running lately, I've come to understand that we are all made differently. Some people need to run and others need to lift weights. There's no right or wrong exercise for each person. I do believe that running is for me right now and maybe I'll need to do something else later.
Have you found your exercise? It's the thing that keeps you moving and staying fit. If you haven't found it yet, I'd like to encourage you to try different things. Try it more than once because the first time isn't a good shot at it. (Growing up, my dad instituted the "three bite rule". We had to eat three bites before we could decide that it wasn't for us. I think this was instituted because his cooking was not our cup of tea. This principle should be applied to trying new things in general.) Once you find it, you will be liberated to enjoy the fruits of your labor and you will enjoy the process along the way.
Here is a list of ideas to get you started:
Running
Swimming
Biking/cycling
Cross-fit
Yoga
Pilates
Kick boxing
Zumba
Weight training
Boot camp
Dancing
And the list goes on.
What do you do for workouts?
Running has been amazing for me and its the only exercise that I truly enjoy.
ReplyDeleteRunning isn't my thing but I still try to incorporate the treadmill in my workout. My biggest thing is mixing up my workout so I don't get bored.
ReplyDeleteMy knees have never been able to take to running, however I am happy with walking outside or in on my treadmill. My friend leads Zumba classes, but I have had no desire to do Zumba
