Top ten tips

I have compiled my top ten tips for losing weight or maintening weight. I have learned over the years that losing weight is the combination of many little lifestyle changes and maintenance is keeping those lifestyle changes. If you have a lot of weight to lose, it will take time. Be patient. The proper amount of weight to lose is one pound a week.

1: Walk every day for at least 30 minutes.
2: Eat breakfast.
3: Do not drink calories. Stick to water, unsweetened iced tea, black coffee, crystal light, or diet soda pop.
4: Sleep. Its important to have adequate sleep.
5: Eat healthy snacks, like fruits and vegetables.
6: Do not eat late at night. Those are the calories that your body turns into fat while you sleep.
7: Think positive and keep focused on your goal.
8: Its ok to have a treat but keep the portions small.
9: Count your calories using Myfitnesspal or some other tool. (Its so much easier to lose weight when you keep track of what you're eating and how much.)
10: Focus on good nutrition instead of a fad diet. A balanced approach will make creating new habits much easier. Paleo, vegan, vegetarian, south beach, low carb, and so on only work temporarily because it's too hard to keep up.

Out of this list, the top three are to walk every day, don't drink calories and count your calories. Weight loss is very individual and if you have other tips that have worked for you, I'd love to hear about it. I am very passionate about losing weight, eating healthy and living a balanced healthy lifestyle. I love to learn  and be more knowledgable.

I love all comments, questions, and positive feedback. Constructive criticism is questionable. Joking, a little. :)
